Contract Type: Full-Time, Monday to Friday

Daily Rate: £105 to £110 per day

We are recruiting a committed and compassionate Special Support Assistant to join a specialist provision in Blackpool. This is a full-time role starting ASAP, working Monday to Friday during term time.

About the Role:

You will support pupils with significant additional needs, which may include severe learning difficulties, autism, complex medical needs or physical disabilities. The work is hands on, and the progress you help pupils make will be genuinely life changing for them.

Key Responsibilities:

• Providing dedicated one to one and small group support throughout the school day
• Supporting communication using visual aids, Makaton, PECS or other systems in place
• Helping pupils work towards the outcomes set out in their EHCPs
• Assisting with personal care, feeding, mobility and physical support where required
• Working closely with therapists, the class teacher and families

Who We're Looking For:

We welcome applications from people with experience as a Special Support Assistant, SEN Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant, as well as those from residential childcare, disability support, healthcare and support work backgrounds.
You must be:

• Patient and genuinely caring
• Resilient and comfortable with the physical side of the role
• Observant, picking up on small changes and communication cues
• A strong communicator who works well within a multi-disciplinary team
• Holder of an enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willing to apply for one

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 14.3% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
