Do you have a natural ability to connect with children and young people, remain calm under pressure and provide encouragement when it's needed most?
You don't necessarily need a teaching qualification or previous experience in a school. We're looking for enthusiastic, patient and resilient individuals who are keen to develop their skills and build a career supporting young people.
We are currently recruiting for an Unqualified SEN & SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Skelmersdale, working with pupils who require additional support with their learning, behaviour, emotional wellbeing and development.
As an SEN & SEMH Teaching Assistant, you'll play an important role in helping pupils feel safe, supported and able to engage with their education.
You may be supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis, within small groups or alongside the class teacher, depending on their individual needs.
Your day-to-day responsibilities may include:
Formal qualifications are not essential. We're interested in people who have the right personality, attitude and willingness to learn.
You could be a great fit if you are:
Experience working with children or young people, SEN, SEMH, challenging behaviour, care, youth work, sports, mentoring, residential settings or similar environments would be beneficial, but is not essential.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to gain valuable experience within an educational setting while making a genuine difference to young people's lives.
You'll work alongside experienced professionals and develop practical skills that can open the door to future opportunities within teaching, education, psychology, counselling, youth work and specialist support.
Whether you're a recent graduate, an experienced support worker looking for a change, a sports coach, youth worker or simply someone who knows they want to work with young people, we'd love to hear from you.
