We are looking for a dedicated and caring 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to join a supportive school team and provide individualised support to a pupil with additional learning and/or special educational needs.

The Role
As a 1:1 Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with the pupil, teaching staff and wider support team to provide tailored academic, social and emotional support throughout the school day.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil with additional needs.
  • Supporting the pupil with their learning, engagement and participation in lessons.
  • Helping to develop confidence, independence and positive relationships.
  • Adapting activities and providing appropriate encouragement and reassurance.
  • Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour where required.
  • Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to follow individual support strategies.
  • Monitoring progress and providing feedback to teaching staff.
  • Promoting a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment.

Previous experience working with children with SEN, SEND, autism, ADHD, SEMH or other additional needs would be advantageous, although candidates with relevant transferable experience will also be considered.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
