We are looking for a Behaviour Support Assistant to join our dedicated team. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.
The Role
As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will:
- Support pupils in managing their behaviour and emotions both inside and outside the classroom.
- Build positive, trusting relationships that encourage confidence, resilience, and self-esteem.
- Work with individuals and small groups to promote positive behaviour and engagement.
- Implement behaviour support strategies and individual support plans.
- Assist teachers in creating a calm, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
- Help pupils develop social, emotional, and communication skills.
- Monitor pupil progress, record observations, and contribute to review meetings where appropriate.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff, pastoral teams, parents, and external agencies to support pupil success.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience working with children or young people, ideally in an educational or pastoral setting.
- Is calm, patient, empathetic, and able to build positive relationships.
- Has strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Can remain resilient and professional when working with challenging behaviour.
- Understands the importance of consistency, boundaries, and restorative approaches.
- Works well as part of a team while also using initiative.
- Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- Has a DBS on the update service or the willingness to obtain one

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
