Commercial Property Surveyor
Location: Wiltshire
Rate: £350 Per day
Contract: 6 Months ongoing
Spencer Clarke Group are looking for an Interim Commercial Property Surveyor to support a local authority's Commercial Assets function, managing a large, income-generating portfolio across retail, office, industrial and wider commercial property.
This is a hands-on estates role with a strong focus on landlord and tenant, rent reviews, lease renewals, valuations, and day-to-day commercial asset management. You will work closely with internal stakeholders and legal services to progress transactions efficiently and protect the council's position.
Responsibilities include:
- Managing a varied commercial property portfolio, providing asset management advice and progressing casework end-to-end
- Undertaking valuations in line with statutory requirements, relevant guidance and professional standards
- Leading lease events including lettings, renewals and associated negotiations
- Completing rent reviews, analysing market evidence, and progressing matters to third-party determination where required
- Negotiating disposals (freehold and leasehold) via private treaty or tender where appropriate
- Handling easements, wayleaves, licences and rights of way
- Supporting telecoms/rooftop installations across the estate
- Producing concise reports, recommendations, and briefing notes for decision-making
About you:
- Strong commercial estate management background (public sector experience beneficial)
- Confident managing lease events, rent reviews and valuations
- Comfortable working with legal teams and a range of stakeholders
- Ideally RICS with relevant experience
