Transport Contract Manager
Location: North West
Rate: Negotiable
Contract: 3 Months Ongoing
Spencer Clarke Group are supporting a local authority to appoint a Transport Contract Manager within the Integrated Transport Service.
This is an operational contract role focused on keeping passenger transport services running safely and efficiently. You will supervise front line teams, coordinate runs and resources, and work closely with passengers, carers, and fleet services to maintain service standards.
Responsibilities include
- Supervising drivers, passenger assistants and related operational staff on a day-to-day basis
- Supporting recruitment, inductions and ongoing performance management within the team
- Managing rota cover and operational resourcing to keep services running smoothly
- Allocating passengers to routes and runs, and keeping records up to date
- Checking time and pay information and supporting accurate operational admin
- Working with your line manager to improve productivity and vehicle utilisation
- Coordinating vehicle deployment, maintenance and repairs with fleet services
- Liaising with passengers, carers and other customers to ensure expectations are met
- Completing checks and audits to make sure services operate to the required standards
- Undertaking driving duties on a last resort basis where required
About you
- At least 2 years' experience in a passenger transport service in a supervisory or management role
- Strong experience with scheduling, allocating runs and supervising staff
- Confident dealing with customers, passengers and carers, with a strong customer service approach
- An understanding of supporting people with additional needs, including frailty, disabilities and sensory impairments
- Logistics/transport and management qualifications are beneficial but not essential
