Development Officer

Rate: £530 Per day
Contract: 6 Months
Spencer Clarke Group are supporting a local authority housing delivery team with the appointment of an Interim Development Officer. This role supports the delivery of a live housing programme, working across internal stakeholders and external consultants and contractors.
You will take responsibility for elements of development projects from early stage through to completion, including supporting procurement, design and planning activity, commercial discussions, and the handover into housing management.
Responsibilities include
- Supporting delivery of multiple housing development projects and workstreams
- Working with internal teams across regeneration, housing, property, legal, procurement and finance
- Supporting procurement of consultants and contractors or development partners
- Supporting design development and the planning process
- Supporting negotiations and stakeholder management with delivery partners
- Supporting handovers into housing, including resident liaison and defects period activity
- Project monitoring, reporting, and keeping key actions moving
About you
- Experience engaging with residents, design teams/contractors, and internal housing / tenancy teams
- Working knowledge of housing construction requirements within a local authority setting
- Understanding of funding and regulatory requirements
- Experience of project monitoring and reporting
- Comfortable handling challenging situations, particularly with residents and contractors
- Ideal: exposure to site acquisition, scheme viability appraisals/software, handover and defects management
