Estates Surveyor
Location: South East
Rate: £230 per day (Negotiable)
Contract: 3 months initially
Spencer Clarke Group are supporting a local authority to appoint an Interim Estates Surveyor into a busy Capital Assets and Property function. The focus is day-to-day estates and asset management across a mixed portfolio, with exposure to disposals, acquisitions and valuations.
This is a hands-on role dealing with landlord and tenant matters, lease events and professional property advice to internal stakeholders, with a strong emphasis on professional standards and governance.
Responsibilities include:
- Estate management across commercial investment and operational assets, including lease renewals and rent reviews
- Supporting disposals and acquisitions, progressing transactions through to legal completion
- Providing valuation input for capital accounting, rental, sale and development appraisals
- Advising internal teams on property matters tied to regeneration, housing, highways and education projects
- Acting as a point of contact for a large tenant base, managing day-to-day queries and issues
- Contributing to income optimisation, capital receipts and rationalisation initiatives
About You:
- MRICS (or working towards with strong equivalent local authority experience)
- Solid background in estate management and landlord and tenant work
- Comfortable with valuations and providing clear professional advice to stakeholders
- Local authority or large portfolio experience preferred
- Confident running multiple instructions with good file note discipline and governance
