Family Help Practitioner
Spencer Clarke Group are currently recruiting for an experienced Family Help Practitioner to join a Local Authority Family Help service on a contract basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate children and families professional to provide strengths-based, whole-family support, helping families build resilience, access appropriate services and reduce the need for ongoing statutory intervention.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of families, delivering high-quality, strengths-based interventions in line with Family Help Plans.
- Complete whole-family assessments and co-produce outcome-focused action plans with families.
- Coordinate Team Around the Family meetings and act as Lead Practitioner where appropriate.
- Deliver direct interventions, including parenting support, practical assistance and evidence-informed approaches.
- Work creatively with children and young people to ensure their voices are heard.
- Build strong working relationships with schools, early years settings, health services, social care and voluntary sector organisations.
- Support families experiencing a range of vulnerabilities, including mental health concerns, domestic abuse, substance misuse, poverty and complex family circumstances.
- Develop wider family and community support networks to encourage sustainable change.
- Promote safeguarding, early intervention and positive outcomes for children and young people.
- Ensure equality, diversity and inclusion are embedded throughout practice.
About You:
The successful candidate will have:
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification relevant to working with children and families, or significant relevant experience.
- Experience working directly with children, young people, families and carers within a statutory or voluntary setting.
Working Arrangements:
- Contract position with a Local Authority
- Full-time hours
- Hybrid working - 3 days office-based and 2 days from home
- One week in every five will require full office attendance for intake week
- Flexibility to work outside standard office hours where required
- Ability to travel between locations and undertake lone working
- Enhanced DBS required
