HRA Finance Business Partner - Interim

Spencer Clarke Group are working closely with a Local Authority in the Midlands to appoint an Interim HRA Finance Business Partner.

This assignment will support the financial management of the Council's Housing Revenue Account, providing budget monitoring, financial advice and support with year-end accounting. Previous demonstrable HRA experience is essential.

• Contract length: 3-6 Months (Review to extension)

The Role

The successful candidate will work closely with housing services and budget holders to support effective financial management, challenge expenditure and improve value for money.

Key responsibilities:

• Preparing and monitoring HRA budgets, including monthly financial reporting.

• Supporting service managers with regular financial reviews and challenge.

• Providing financial advice to support strategic and operational decisions.

• Contributing to year-end processes and the annual Statement of Accounts.

• Providing financial support to key projects and identifying opportunities for efficiencies.

• Interpreting financial and performance information for service managers.

About You

You will have:

• Previous demonstrable experience of accounting within a Housing Revenue Account environment.

• Local Authority finance experience.

• AAT qualification or equivalent, with at least three years' post-qualification experience, or substantial relevant demonstrable finance experience.

• Strong budget preparation and monitoring skills, alongside an understanding of statutory accounting and reporting requirements.

• Confident Excel and financial systems skills, with the ability to communicate financial information clearly.
