We are currently recruiting for an Independent Domestic Abuse Advisor to support our Local Authority client in Merseyside.

Contract Length: 3-6 months
Pay Rate: £20 per hour PAYE
Hybrid working - 2 days per week onsite

We are looking for a committed and experienced IDVA to join our Local Authority client in Merseyside. As an IDVA, you will provide proactive, short- to medium-term crisis intervention, safety planning, advocacy and practical support to help victims and their children stay safe. You will work closely with victims and survivors to understand their individual circumstances, identify risks and needs, and develop personalised safety and support plans.

Key responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualised safety and support plans
• Provide specialist support, advice and crisis intervention to high-risk victims and survivors of domestic abuse
• Complete evidence-based risk assessments and identify safeguarding concerns
• Support service users to understand the dynamics of domestic abuse and empower them to make informed choices

Key requirements:

• Experience of working with victims/survivors of domestic abuse, safeguarding, or within a related support service.
• An understanding of the MARAC process and multi-agency working
• The ability to manage a caseload, prioritise competing demands and maintain accurate records
