We are currently recruiting on behalf of a valued client in the North Tyneside area for multiple Residential Childcare Night Officers to join a specialist children's residential service.


This is a rewarding opportunity to support vulnerable young people during overnight hours, with a particular focus on monitoring and safeguarding young people living with epilepsy.


As a Residential Childcare Night Officer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety, wellbeing, and comfort of young people throughout the night. You will be responsible for monitoring individuals with epilepsy, responding appropriately to any incidents, and maintaining a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment within the home.


Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and support young people throughout overnight shifts.
  • Carry out regular welfare checks and epilepsy monitoring in line with care plans.
  • Respond calmly and effectively to seizures and any medical emergencies.
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and incident documentation.
  • Ensure the home remains safe, secure, and compliant with safeguarding procedures.


Key Requirements

  • Previous experience working with children or young people in a residential, care, support, or healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge or experience of supporting individuals with epilepsy is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond effectively to emergencies.
  • A caring, reliable, and compassionate approach, with excellent communication skills.


Contract Length: 3-6 months with a view to extend to an ongoing contract.
Pay Rate: £22.78
Working pattern - 37 hours per week, onsite.
