Due to an increase in demand from September, we are recruiting experienced and enthusiastic School Cooks to work across a range of schools in Liverpool.
We have a variety of short-term, long-term, and ongoing opportunities available. These roles are ideal for candidates who are passionate about preparing nutritious, high-quality meals and enjoy working in a busy school kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing and cooking healthy, nutritious meals for pupils and school staff
• Planning and preparing menus in line with school catering requirements
• Ensuring meals are prepared and served to a high standard
• Following food hygiene, health and safety, and allergen procedures
• Managing special dietary requirements and food allergies
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and kitchen hygiene
• Monitoring food stock and supporting with ordering and stock control
• Ensuring food is stored, prepared, and served safely
• Working effectively with catering assistants and other school staff
• Completing relevant kitchen and food safety records

Candidate Requirements

• Previous experience as a School Cook, Chef, Cook, or in a similar catering role is desirable
• A good understanding of food hygiene and health and safety procedures
• Knowledge of allergen management and special dietary requirements
• A relevant Food Hygiene qualification is desirable
• Ability to work efficiently and independently in a busy kitchen
• Good organisational and time-management skills
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work well as part of a team
• A positive and flexible approach to work
• An Enhanced DBS check may be required, depending on the placement

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
