We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Blackburn. This is a full-time role supporting a Year 3 pupil with Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them to access learning, develop positive relationships, and achieve their full potential.
This position is initially available until October half-term. Depending on the needs of the school and the suitability of the successful candidate, there may be an opportunity for the role to continue beyond this date; however, this cannot be guaranteed.
The Role
Provide 1:1 support for a Year 3 pupil with SEMH and SEN needs.
Build a positive, trusting relationship to encourage engagement and emotional wellbeing.
Support the pupil both in the classroom and during other school activities.
Promote positive behaviour and encourage independence where appropriate.
The Ideal Candidate
Has previous experience working with children with SEMH and/or SEN, ideally within a primary school setting.
Is patient, resilient, and able to build strong relationships with children.
Has excellent communication and behaviour management skills.
Is committed to supporting pupils to achieve the best possible outcomes.
Holds a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential) or has equivalent experience.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 14.3% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
