Senior Surveyor Land & Development

Rate: £425 Per day
Contract: 6 Months ongoing
Spencer Clarke Group are looking for an interim Senior Development Surveyor to support a public sector property and development function, managing a varied commercial and residential portfolio with active development and regeneration opportunities.
You will lead on development advice, disposals strategy, joint venture negotiations, and the day-to-day estate management work that underpins a high-performing commercial assets portfolio. This role also includes line management responsibility for a small portfolio team.
Responsibilities include
- Managing and delivering property management services across a commercial assets portfolio
- Letting, renewing and administering commercial and agricultural tenancies
- Development appraisals on brownfield and greenfield opportunities, including strategies to generate capital receipts
- Negotiating disposals (freehold and leasehold) via private treaty and tender processes
- Supporting joint venture agreements and regeneration projects on council-owned land
- Managing valuation work to ensure compliance with relevant codes and professional standards
- Negotiating easements, wayleaves, licences and rights of way
- Producing clear reports, recommendations and briefings for stakeholders and decision-makers
- Working across multi-disciplinary project teams covering residential, retail, commercial and industrial schemes
About you
- RICS membership with relevant post-qualification experience is highly desirable
- Strong background in commercial portfolio management, estates casework and development/regeneration activity
- Confident negotiating lease terms, rent reviews, renewals, and associated legal/property documentation
- Comfortable engaging with a wide range of stakeholders, including senior officers and external parties
- Strong report writing skills and able to work at pace in a public sector environment
