We are looking for a Specialist Learning Support Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive educational setting. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or education professional who wants to make a meaningful difference every day.

The Role
As a Specialist Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and the wider support team to provide tailored support to pupils with a range of additional learning needs.

You'll play an important role in helping pupils access their education, develop independence and build the confidence they need to succeed.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing one-to-one and small-group learning support.
  • Supporting pupils to access and engage with the curriculum.
  • Adapting learning activities and resources to meet individual needs.
  • Helping pupils develop confidence, independence and key life skills.
  • Supporting communication, social and emotional development.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement in learning.
  • Building strong, positive relationships with pupils.
  • Following individual learning and support plans.
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and other professionals.
  • Monitoring progress and celebrating individual achievements.
  • Helping maintain a safe, welcoming and inclusive learning environment.

  • An enhanced DBS on the update service or the willingness to obtain one


Previous experience working within SEN, education, care, youth work, mentoring or a similar setting would be advantageous. We are also happy to consider candidates with transferable experience and the right attitude.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
