About the Role
We are currently seeking an experienced and reliable School Attendance Officer to join a school in Birmingham, starting as soon as possible.
The successful candidate will have previous school administration or attendance experience, with essential hands-on experience using the Bromcom management information system. You will play a key role in monitoring and improving pupil attendance, maintaining accurate records, and supporting the school in ensuring pupils attend regularly and punctually.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and record daily pupil attendance using Bromcom.
- Follow up on pupil absences and contact parents/carers regarding unexplained or persistent absence.
- Maintain accurate attendance records and update school systems.
- Identify attendance concerns and escalate issues to the appropriate members of staff.
- Support the school with attendance reports, data entry and general administrative duties.
- Assist with punctuality monitoring and attendance improvement initiatives.
- Handle confidential pupil information professionally and sensitively.
- Provide general administrative support to the wider school office team.
Essential Requirements
- Previous administrative experience, ideally within a school setting.
- Proven experience using the Bromcom system - essential.
- A valid Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Confidence communicating with parents/carers and school staff.
- A professional, proactive and reliable approach to work.
- Availability to start ASAP and commit to the required working hours.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
