Contract: 6 Months

Spencer Clarke Group are supporting a local authority to appoint a Building Surveyor within their Property & Asset Management / Building and Facilities service.

Supporting delivery of concept to completion projects across a varied property portfolio including commercial, residential, leisure, education and industrial properties.

Responsibilities include
* Provide a visible commitment to health, safety and wellbeing, ensuring CDM and relevant legislation is applied across projects
* Review and approve contractor Construction Phase Plans and ensure continued adherence to agreed controls and safe systems of work
* Complete and document health and safety site audits and inspections, ensuring actions are followed through
* Deliver capital programmes on time and to budget, including design, procurement and contract award activity
* Prepare tender work packages including detailed specifications, cost plans and AutoCAD drawings
* Undertake the role of Project Manager and Contract Administrator on allocated projects, work packages, JCT and other contract forms
* Undertake professional surveys including condition, defect, dilapidation and DDA surveys
* Provide professional advice to internal stakeholders, supporting feasibility studies, business cases and a continued pipeline of work
* Manage budgets including forecasting, monitoring, valuations, variations, contractor payments and final accounts
* Support asset data updates through stock condition surveys and ensure component data is captured at completion of works

About you
* BSc in Building Surveying or equivalent
* Minimum 3 years post qualification experience within a Building Surveying environment
* Proven experience delivering inception to completion projects
* Strong knowledge of Health and Safety, CDM and Building Regulations
* AutoCAD experience
* Experience of procurement and tendering and working with contract forms such as JCT and NEC
