Spencer Clarke Group are supporting a local authority to appoint a Building Surveyor within their Property and Asset Management service.

This is an on-site contract role focused on delivering a full surveying service across building repairs and adaptations, managing works end to end and ensuring compliance, quality, time and cost controls are met.

Responsibilities include
* Undertake inspections to diagnose building defects and agree appropriate repair solutions
* Produce specifications and technical recommendations for a range of repair works and adaptations
* Manage works from start to finish, including programming, site visits and contractor supervision
* Monitor quality, budget and timescales, ensuring works are delivered to the required standards
* Build effective working relationships with residents, contractors, internal teams and external partners to achieve best value
* Provide professional advice on building practices, compliance requirements and legislative changes
* Support tender activity, including arranging, inviting and contributing to the evaluation of tenders in line with financial and audit requirements

About you
* Proven experience working as a Building Surveyor delivering repairs, maintenance and building works
* Strong knowledge of statutory and regulatory compliance relevant to housing and building repair works
* Experience supervising contractors on site and managing programmes, quality and costs
* Confident stakeholder management skills, with a customer focused approach when dealing with residents and service users
