We're recruiting for an experienced Clinical Psychologist to join a brand-new specialist school opening in January 2027. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in establishing a new service from the ground up and make a lasting impact on the lives of children and young people.
The school will support students aged 5-19 with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, providing a nurturing, inclusive and aspirational environment where every young person can reach their full potential.

The role:
As the Clinical Psychologist, you'll be instrumental in supporting the emotional wellbeing and behavioural development of pupils across the school. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, you'll assess psychological needs, deliver evidence-based interventions and contribute to creating a positive, therapeutic learning environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting psychological assessments and developing tailored intervention plans.

  • Delivering individual and group therapeutic support.

  • Embedding Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) approaches across the school.

  • Working collaboratively with education, therapy and care teams.

  • Providing consultation, advice and training to staff and families.

  • Supporting the development of therapeutic practice across the service.

Supervising Assistant Psychologists where appropriate.

About you:
We're looking for someone who has:

  • HCPC registration as a Clinical Psychologist.

  • Experience working with children and young people with Autism and complex needs.

  • A background within educational, clinical or care settings.

  • Experience working effectively within multi-disciplinary teams.

  • Previous experience supervising Assistant Psychologists.

  • A passion for evidence-based practice and improving outcomes for children and young people.
