Clinical Psychologist (Part-Time, Term Time Only)
Salary: £23,247.73 - £26,952.97 (actual salary)
Contract: Fixed-Term until July 2027
Hours: 16 hours per week
We're recruiting for an experienced Clinical Psychologist to join a brand-new specialist school opening in January 2027. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in establishing a new service from the ground up and make a lasting impact on the lives of children and young people.
The school will support students aged 5-19 with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, providing a nurturing, inclusive and aspirational environment where every young person can reach their full potential.
The role:
As the Clinical Psychologist, you'll be instrumental in supporting the emotional wellbeing and behavioural development of pupils across the school. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, you'll assess psychological needs, deliver evidence-based interventions and contribute to creating a positive, therapeutic learning environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
Conducting psychological assessments and developing tailored intervention plans.
Delivering individual and group therapeutic support.
Embedding Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) approaches across the school.
Working collaboratively with education, therapy and care teams.
Providing consultation, advice and training to staff and families.
Supporting the development of therapeutic practice across the service.
Supervising Assistant Psychologists where appropriate.
About you:
We're looking for someone who has:
HCPC registration as a Clinical Psychologist.
Experience working with children and young people with Autism and complex needs.
A background within educational, clinical or care settings.
Experience working effectively within multi-disciplinary teams.
Previous experience supervising Assistant Psychologists.
A passion for evidence-based practice and improving outcomes for children and young people.
