Disrepair Surveyor
Location: London
Rate: £400 per day
Contract: 6 months ongoing
Spencer Clarke Group are looking for a Disrepair Surveyor to support a large public sector housing provider, focusing on progressing legal disrepair matters through to completion.
You will be carrying out property inspections, writing clear specifications using SOR codes, raising works orders, and closely managing contractors to ensure works are delivered to time, cost, and quality.
Responsibilities include:
- Inspecting occupied and communal council stock (pre works and post inspections)
- Reviewing expert reports and letters of claim and translating requirements into clear repair specs
- Using SOR codes to create job specifications and raise works orders
- Managing variations, monitoring contractor performance, and resolving delivery issues
- Working closely with disrepair case officers on Section 11 and EPA related claims
- Liaising with residents and applying safeguarding principles during visits
- Completing quality checks and supporting value for money reviews where required
About you:
- Strong experience in a fast-paced housing surveying or repairs environment
- Proven contractor management experience and confidence handling variations
- Able to diagnose complex repairs and produce accurate, professional specifications
- Comfortable working with disrepair claims processes, inspections, and resident liaison
- Understanding of safeguarding expectations when visiting residents' homes
