HIA Surveyor

Contract: 3 - 6 Months
Spencer Clarke Group are recruiting for an experienced HIA Surveyor to support a busy public sector housing service. This is a hands-on role overseeing and delivering specialist disability adaptations, home improvements, and associated inspections, with a strong focus on quality, compliance, and resident outcomes.
You will manage a complex caseload and help coordinate delivery across internal teams, contractors, and partner agencies, ensuring works are completed on time, to budget, and to the required technical standards.
Responsibilities include:
- Managing delivery of disability adaptations including level access showers, stairlifts, ramps, wheelchair lifts, and other internal/external adaptations
- Undertaking pre, mid and post inspections and ensuring quality assurance and documentation
- Supporting delivery of decent homes / disrepair works including damp, condensation and HHSRS-related issues
- Providing technical guidance and support to colleagues, and contributing to a high-performance team culture
- Ensuring contractor performance, health and safety compliance, and effective contract management
- Managing complaints and defects, ensuring issues are resolved and fully documented
About you:
- Proven experience delivering disabled adaptations in residential settings
- Strong knowledge of housing compliance and inspection, including HHSRS and building defect diagnosis
- Confident specifying and overseeing building works, managing contractors and handling complex cases
- Good understanding of construction health and safety requirements, and working with vulnerable residents
- Strong stakeholder management
