We are currently seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a supportive and welcoming school team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and dedicated education professional who is passionate about supporting pupils and helping them achieve their full potential.

The Role
As an HLTA, you will play an important role in supporting teaching and learning across the school. You will work closely with teachers and other members of staff to deliver engaging learning activities, provide targeted support to pupils and help create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting teachers with the planning and delivery of engaging lessons.
  • Leading whole-class, small-group and individual learning activities.
  • Covering lessons and delivering pre-planned work when required.
  • Providing targeted support to pupils to help them make progress.
  • Supporting pupils with a range of learning needs and abilities.
  • Monitoring and reporting on pupil progress and engagement.
  • Promoting positive behaviour and maintaining high expectations.
  • Working effectively with teachers, support staff and other professionals.
  • Contributing to a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment.
  • Supporting the wider life of the school where required.

About You
We are looking for someone who is:

  • An experienced Teaching Assistant or HLTA with a strong understanding of supporting children in an educational setting.
  • Confident leading learning activities and working with groups of pupils.
  • Passionate about helping children and young people reach their potential.
  • Patient, nurturing and able to build positive relationships with pupils.
  • Confident managing behaviour and maintaining a positive learning environment.
  • A strong communicator who works well as part of a team.
  • Adaptable, organised and able to use their initiative.
  • DBS on the update service or the willingness to obtain one
  • Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Relevant qualifications and previous experience working in a school setting are desirable.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
