We are working with a Local Authority in London to recruit an experienced and passionate Independent Domestic Violence Advisor to join their Violence Against Women & Girls service.
Essential Requirements:
- A Level 3 regulated qualification in supporting victims of domestic abuse, such as SafeLives IDVA training or an equivalent recognised qualification.
- A minimum of 2 years' post-qualification experience working in a domestic abuse/IDVA role.
- A satisfactory Enhanced DBS outcome.
Duties include:
- Provide specialist emotional, practical and trauma-informed support to victims and survivors of domestic abuse.
- Undertake comprehensive risk and needs assessments, including the use of DASH, and develop effective safety and risk-reduction plans.
- Manage a caseload of victims and survivors, prioritising cases according to risk, need and complexity.
- Undertake proactive casework, including community and home visits and assertive outreach to engage victims and survivors with multiple or complex needs
