We are looking for a Learning Support Assistant to join our friendly primary school team.
The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide high-quality support to pupils, helping them to engage positively with learning and achieve their full potential. You will build positive relationships with children, encourage their confidence and independence, and contribute to a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting pupils in the classroom, individually and in small groups.
- Working alongside the class teacher to support learning and development.
- Providing additional support to pupils who may have special educational needs or require extra help with their learning.
- Helping pupils develop their confidence, independence and social skills.
- Reinforcing classroom learning and assisting with practical activities.
- Supporting positive behaviour and promoting a calm, inclusive classroom environment.
- Monitoring pupils' progress and providing appropriate feedback to teaching staff.
- Building positive and professional relationships with pupils, parents/carers and colleagues.
- Supporting the wider life of the school and contributing to school activities where required.

Previous experience of working with children in a primary school or educational setting would be desirable, although we would also welcome applications from candidates with relevant transferable experience and a genuine passion for supporting children's learning.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
