Pastoral & Learning Support Mentor

We are looking for a Pastoral & Learning Support Mentor to join a supportive specialist setting. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to make a genuine difference to young people's education, wellbeing and future.

The Role
As a Pastoral & Learning Support Mentor, you will work closely with pupils who require additional support with their learning, behaviour, emotional wellbeing and engagement.

You will provide a consistent and positive presence, helping pupils develop confidence and resilience while supporting them to access their education and achieve their potential.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing 1:1 and small-group support with learning and personal development.
• Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils.
• Supporting young people with SEMH and additional needs.
• Helping pupils manage emotions, behaviour and challenging situations.
• Encouraging positive attitudes towards learning and education.
• Supporting pupils to engage with classroom activities and develop independent learning skills.
• Delivering targeted pastoral and learning interventions.
• Helping pupils develop confidence, resilience and self-esteem.
• Supporting positive behaviour and reinforcing appropriate boundaries.
• Working alongside teachers and pastoral staff to identify and respond to individual needs.
• Monitoring pupil progress, engagement and wellbeing.
• Contributing to a safe, calm and inclusive learning environment.

• DBS on the update service or the willingness to obtain one

Experience working within an SEMH school, alternative provision, SEN setting, youth work, behaviour support or similar environment would be highly desirable.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
