Attendance Officer - SEND School

Location: Bolton
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:00pm
Pay: £18.00-£19.00 per hour
Contract: Temporary to Permanent
Start Date: ASAP

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Attendance Officer to join a SEND school in Bolton on a temporary-to-permanent basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced school attendance professional who can confidently manage attendance processes, work closely with families and complete home visits where required.

The successful candidate will:

• Have previous experience working as an Attendance Officer within a school setting
• Have a strong understanding of school attendance procedures and safeguarding
• Monitor and analyse pupil attendance and punctuality
• Follow up on persistent and/or unauthorised absence
• Communicate effectively with parents, carers and school staff
• Carry out home visits to support attendance where necessary
• Maintain accurate attendance records and documentation
• Work collaboratively with pastoral, safeguarding and SEND teams
• Handle sensitive situations professionally and confidentially
• Be confident, organised and proactive

Requirements:

• Previous, relevant experience as a School Attendance Officer is essential
• Experience working within a SEND school or with SEND pupils is highly desirable
• Experience undertaking home visits is desirable
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• A good understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality
• Ability to work independently and as part of a wider school team
• Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
