School Caretaker - Temporary Cover

Location: Macclesfield
Start Date: 19th October
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:00pm
Pay Rate: £17.50-£18.50 per hour
Contract: Temporary Cover

We are currently recruiting for an experienced and reliable School Caretaker to provide temporary cover at a school in Macclesfield, starting 19th October.

The Role

As School Caretaker, you will be responsible for helping to ensure the school site is safe, secure, clean and well maintained. You will work closely with school staff to support the smooth day-to-day running of the premises.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out general maintenance and minor repairs around the school site
• Ensure the school buildings and grounds are safe, secure and well presented
• Conduct routine checks of the premises and report any issues
• Assist with setting up rooms and facilities when required
• Respond to maintenance requests and resolve issues where possible
• Support with site security, including opening and securing the school
• Maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment for pupils and staff
• Follow all relevant health and safety procedures

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

• Experienced in a caretaking, maintenance or facilities role
• Reliable, practical and able to work independently
• Confident carrying out general repairs and maintenance
• Safety-conscious and organised
• Professional and approachable when working around pupils and staff
• Ideally experienced within a school or similar public-sector environment

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
