School Science Technician - Fleetwood

Location: Fleetwood
Pay Rate: £17.50-£18.50 per hour
Hours: 8:00am - 3:30pm
Contract: Temporary

We are currently recruiting for a Science Technician to join a school in Fleetwood on a temporary basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a science, laboratory or school-based background who is looking for a role supporting practical science lessons and helping ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the science department.

The Role

As a Science Technician, you will be responsible for:

• Preparing equipment, materials and practical resources for science lessons
• Supporting teaching staff with practical experiments and demonstrations
• Setting up and clearing away laboratory equipment
• Maintaining a safe, clean and organised laboratory environment
• Checking, storing and maintaining science equipment and resources
• Following appropriate health and safety procedures
• Assisting with general duties within the science department

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience working in a school, college or educational environment (ideally)
• A background in science, laboratory work or a related field
• Good knowledge of laboratory equipment and safe working practices
• Strong organisational and attention-to-detail skills
• The ability to work independently as well as alongside teaching staff
• A proactive and reliable approach to work
• A genuine interest in supporting students with practical science

School experience is desirable, but candidates with relevant laboratory or science-based experience will also be considered.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
