Spencer Clarke Group are currently working in partnership with a secondary school based on the Fylde Coast who are seeking an experienced and dedicated SENCO to join their team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic SEN professional to take a key role in supporting students with additional needs and helping to ensure that every young person receives the appropriate support to thrive academically, socially and emotionally.

As SENCO, you will play a central role in leading and developing the school's SEND provision. You will work closely with teaching staff, school leaders, parents/carers and external agencies to ensure that pupils' individual needs are identified and effectively supported.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and coordinating the school's SEND provision.
  • Supporting the identification and assessment of students with additional needs.
  • Developing, implementing and reviewing appropriate support plans.
  • Working closely with teachers to ensure effective differentiation and inclusive teaching strategies.
  • Managing and coordinating Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
  • Liaising with parents, carers, external professionals and local authorities.
  • Monitoring the progress and attainment of students with SEND.
  • Providing advice, guidance and support to teaching and support staff.
  • Contributing to the development of the school's SEND policies and procedures.
  • Ensuring the school remains compliant with relevant SEND legislation and the SEND Code of Practice.
  • Promoting an inclusive and supportive learning environment across the school.

The successful candidate will ideally:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Have experience working within a secondary school SEND environment.
  • Have previous experience working as a SENCO or in a significant SEND leadership role.
  • Have a strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and current SEND legislation.
  • Have experience managing EHCPs and working with external agencies.
  • Be confident supporting and advising teaching staff.
  • Have excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Be passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people with additional needs.
  • Be able to build strong relationships with pupils, staff, parents and external professionals.

Spencer Clarke Group work with a variety of schools covering a wide geographical area. We deal with teaching placements at Primary, Secondary, Special Education needs and college level as well as support staff positions also within these.
