Social Work assistant

We are currently recruiting for a Social Work Assistant to support our Local Authority client in the Wales.

Contract Length: 3-6 months
Pay Rate: £16.62 per hour PAYE
Hybrid working - 2 days remote, 3 days onsite

We are working with a Local Authority in Wales for enthusiastic and committed Social Work Assistants to join their established and supportive Fostering Service. This is an exciting opportunity to play an important role in supporting foster carers and helping to achieve positive outcomes for children and young people in foster care.

Key responsibilities:

• Assessing and managing risk appropriately and responding to emerging concerns
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records using relevant recording and information systems
• Managing an allocated caseload of foster carers and providing ongoing support and supervision
• Supporting foster carers to meet the individual needs of children and young people in their care

Key requirements:

• The ability to assess and manage risk appropriately.
• Experience or knowledge of assessment and care planning
• Experience of working with children and young people
• An understanding of relevant legislation relating to children and social care, including the Social Services and Well-being Act and Fostering Regulations.
