We are currently looking for a Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in the Whitley Bay area. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young children and wants to play an important role in their learning and development.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support pupils across the primary age range with their day-to-day learning
- Work closely with the class teacher to support engaging and enjoyable lessons
- Provide additional support to individual pupils and small groups
- Help children with reading, writing, phonics and basic maths
- Encourage pupils to take part in classroom activities and develop their confidence
- Support positive behaviour and help children understand classroom expectations
- Assist with classroom preparation and activities
- Help create a fun, safe and inclusive learning environment
- Encourage independence and support pupils with their social and emotional development
What are we looking for?
- Previous experience working with children is desirable, particularly within a school or nursery setting
- A patient, caring and approachable personality
- Someone who is confident working with young children
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- A positive and proactive attitude
- The ability to build strong relationships with pupils and staff
- A genuine passion for helping children learn and develop
- A Teaching Assistant or childcare qualification would be desirable, but is not essential
- Ideally based in or around the Whitley Bay area
