Spencer Clarke Group are working with a welcoming primary school in Wallasey who are seeking an Unqualified Primary Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2026.
This rewarding role involves supporting pupils with a range of additional learning, behavioural, emotional and communication needs within a mainstream primary school. You may work with children who require 1:1 or small-group support to access the curriculum, regulate their emotions, develop independence and engage positively with school life.
Reliability, punctuality and consistency are particularly important for this position. Many of the children rely on familiar adults, clear routines and stable relationships to feel secure and make progress, so the school need someone who is committed to being there consistently and becoming a trusted member of the team.
You do not necessarily need previous school experience. Suitable backgrounds may include care, children's residential services, youth work, nursery settings, healthcare, support work, mentoring, sports coaching or specialist education. However, applicants should have relevant experience supporting children, young people or individuals with additional needs.

The Role:

• 
  Provide 1:1 and small-group support within a mainstream primary classroom.
• 
  Support pupils with additional learning, behavioural and communication needs.
• 
  Help children with emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
• 
  Support pupils to access English, Maths and the wider primary curriculum.
• 
  Work proactively alongside the class teacher and other teaching assistants.
• 
  Adapt activities and resources to meet individual pupil needs.
• 
  Encourage independence, confidence and positive social interaction.
• 
  Support speech, language and communication development where required.
• 
  Build strong and consistent relationships with pupils.
• 
  Help maintain a positive, structured and inclusive classroom environment.
