Spencer Clarke Group are recruiting Unqualified Teaching Assistants to work across a range of mainstream primary and specialist SEND schools throughout Liverpool.

We are looking for reliable, enthusiastic individuals who have experience supporting children, young people or adults with additional needs and would like to develop a career within education.
You do not need a Teaching Assistant qualification or previous school experience. We are particularly interested in candidates with transferable experience from care, children's residential services, support work, healthcare, youth work, mentoring, nurseries, sports coaching or specialist settings.
Depending on your experience and preferences, you could work within a mainstream primary classroom or a specialist school supporting pupils with needs including Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, learning difficulties, communication needs and complex additional needs.
Reliability, punctuality and consistency are essential. Many pupils, particularly those with SEND, benefit from familiar adults, predictable routines and strong relationships. Schools therefore need people who are committed to becoming a consistent and trusted member of the team.

The Role:

  • Provide 1:1, small-group and classroom support.

  • Work within mainstream primary or specialist SEND schools.

  • Support pupils with learning, communication, behavioural and emotional needs.

  • Support children with Autism, ADHD, SEMH and additional learning needs.

  • Help pupils access learning and engage positively with school.

  • Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour.

  • Work alongside teachers, SEND staff and other professionals.

  • Adapt activities and resources to individual pupil needs.

  • Encourage communication, independence and social development.

  • Build positive and consistent relationships with pupils.

Relevant Experience Could Include:

  • Children's or adult residential care.

  • Health or social care.

  • Support work.

  • SEND or additional needs support.

  • Youth work or mentoring.

  • Behaviour or pastoral support.

  • Nursery or early years experience.

  • Sports coaching.

  • Previous paid or voluntary experience supporting children, young people or vulnerable individuals.

What We're Looking For:

  • Excellent reliability, punctuality and attendance.

  • A patient, empathetic and resilient approach.

  • Confidence supporting individuals with additional needs.

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

  • Ability to remain calm and maintain clear boundaries.

  • Confidence supporting behaviour and emotional regulation.

  • A proactive and adaptable attitude.

  • Genuine interest in working within primary or specialist education.

Why Work With Spencer Clarke Group?

  • Competitive pay of £109.85 per day.

  • Opportunities across both mainstream primary and specialist SEND schools.

  • Full-time and long-term placements.

  • Potential temporary-to-permanent opportunities.

  • Opportunity to develop valuable classroom and SEND experience.

  • Ongoing support from experienced education consultants.

  • Access to a wide network of schools throughout Liverpool and Merseyside.
