Unqualified Teaching Assistant - Wirral

Location: Wirral
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Temporary - Full Time
Pay: £109.85 per day

Spencer Clarke Group are recruiting Unqualified Primary Teaching Assistants to work within mainstream primary schools across the Wirral, including Birkenhead, Wallasey, Bebington, Prenton and surrounding areas.
These roles are ideal for individuals who have experience supporting children or young people and are looking to develop a career within primary education. You do not need a formal Teaching Assistant qualification, but you should have relevant transferable experience and the confidence to support pupils within a busy classroom environment.
You may support children across EYFS, KS1 or KS2, including pupils who require additional help with learning, communication, behaviour, emotional regulation or SEND.

Reliability, punctuality and consistency are extremely important. Many pupils benefit from familiar adults, predictable routines and stable relationships, so schools need people who are committed to attending every day, arriving on time and becoming a consistent member of the classroom team.

Relevant experience could come from care, children's residential services, youth work, sports coaching, nurseries, healthcare, mentoring, support work or specialist education settings.

The Role:

  • Provide 1:1, small-group and general classroom support.

  • Support pupils across EYFS, KS1 or KS2.

  • Help children access learning and remain engaged during lessons.

  • Support pupils with additional learning, behavioural and communication needs.

  • Assist children with emotional regulation and positive behaviour.

  • Work proactively alongside the class teacher and other support staff.

  • Adapt activities and resources to meet individual pupil needs.

  • Encourage confidence, independence and positive social interaction.

  • Help maintain a structured, safe and inclusive classroom environment.

  • Build strong and consistent relationships with pupils and staff.

Relevant Experience Could Include:

  • Care or children's residential support.

  • Youth work or mentoring.

  • Sports coaching.

  • Nursery or early years experience.

  • Healthcare or community support.

  • Behaviour or pastoral support.

  • SEND or additional needs support.

  • Previous paid or voluntary experience working with children or young people.

What We're Looking For:

  • Excellent reliability, punctuality and attendance.

  • A patient, caring and resilient approach.

  • Confidence working with children and young people.

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

  • Ability to remain calm and maintain clear boundaries.

  • A proactive attitude - someone willing to get involved rather than wait to be directed.

  • Flexibility and the ability to adapt to individual pupil needs.

  • A genuine interest in building a career within primary education.

Why Work With Spencer Clarke Group?

  • Competitive daily pay of £109.85 per day.

  • Full-time and long-term opportunities across the Wirral.

  • Potential temporary-to-permanent opportunities.

  • Opportunity to gain valuable primary classroom and SEND experience.

  • Ongoing support from experienced education consultants.

  • Access to a wide network of primary schools across the Wirral.
