Spencer Clarke Group are seeking a Benefits Assessment Officer for a local authority in East London.
In this role, you will assess benefit claims and discretionary awards, supporting vulnerable residents through the DWP Crisis Resilience Fund.
Duties:
- Process Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support claims.
- Assess discretionary awards and crisis support applications.
- Make accurate and timely benefit decisions.
- Support vulnerable residents and manage caseload demand.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience processing Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support claims.
- Experience assessing discretionary awards and financial assistance.
- Experience managing a high-volume benefits caseload.
- Experience supporting vulnerable residents and making accurate decisions.
What's on offer:
Salary: £28ph
*may negotiate higher for exceptional candidates, based on experience*
Contract type: 4-6 months minimum
Hours: Monday to Friday, 36 hours per week
