We are working with a South West Local Authority to find a dedicated Deputy Manager to support the Registered Manager in leading a residential home that provides high-quality, safe and nurturing care for disabled children and young people. You will support and motivate staff, contribute to service development and help maintain consistently high standards of care. When required, you will deputise for the Registered Manager, taking delegated responsibility for the management and operation of the home

Essential Requirements:

• Relevant qualifications: A recognised qualification in residential childcare and the management qualification required for registration as a children's home manager, in accordance with applicable regulations and Ofsted requirements.
• Leadership and management experience: Proven experience of leading, managing or supervising staff within residential childcare or a comparable children's social care setting
• Safeguarding: A thorough understanding of safeguarding children, promoting welfare, protecting children's rights and responding effectively to concerns or risks

Duties include:

• Supporting the management of the home: Deputise for the Registered Manager and help ensure the effective day-to-day operation of the service in line with legislation, policies and regulatory standards.
• Promoting high-quality care: Ensure children receive safe, nurturing and individualised care that meets their needs and promotes their wellbeing, development and independence.
• Safeguarding children: Ensure safeguarding and child protection procedures are followed, responding appropriately to concerns and promoting children's rights and welfare.
