Domestic Abuse Support Worker

We are currently recruiting for a Domestic Abuse Support Worker to support our Local Authority client in the South East.

Contract Length: 3-6 months - with possible extension
Pay Rate: £20 per hour PAYE - Negotiable

We are looking for a compassionate, proactive and resilient Domestic Abuse Support Officer to join our Local Authority Client in South East. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference to individuals and families who have experienced domestic abuse and/or stalking, helping them access the support they need to move forward with their lives.

Key responsibilities:

• Provide compassionate, person-centred support to individuals and families affected by domestic abuse and/or stalking, helping them to feel safe and rebuild their lives.
• Support tenancy sustainment by identifying barriers to maintaining accommodation and helping prevent homelessness.
• Complete needs assessments, personalised support plans and staying safe plans in partnership with service users.

Key requirements:

• Experience of supporting vulnerable individuals with complex needs, ideally within domestic abuse, safeguarding, homelessness or housing support services.
• Understanding of the impact of domestic abuse and stalking, including the importance of safeguarding, risk assessment and trauma-informed support.
• Ability to identify individual needs, assess risks and develop effective support plans to promote safety, independence and tenancy sustainment.
