We are currently recruiting for a Family Support Worker support our Local Authority client in the East Midlands.

Contract Length: 3-6 months
Pay Rate: £17 per hour

We are looking for a committed and experienced Family Support Worker to join our Local Authority client and provide practical, purposeful support to children and families. The successful candidate will work alongside Social Workers to undertake direct work with parents and families, helping to improve outcomes for children and promote safe, healthy and stable family life

Key responsibilities:

• Undertaking direct work with parents and carers in line with Child in Need and Child Protection plans
• Supporting children and families with family time/contact arrangements, including helping parents to develop safe and positive relationships with their children
• Supporting parents with parenting skills, routines, boundaries and understanding children's needs
• Maintaining accurate, timely and confidential records of all work undertaken with children and families

Key requirements:

• Has experience working with children, young people and families in a support or social care setting
• Has experience undertaking direct work with parents and supporting positive changes in parenting and family functioning
• Committed to improving outcomes for children and keeping their safety and wellbeing at the centre of their work
