Interim Head of Education Planning

West London | £600-£700 per day | Hybrid Working

We are recruiting for an experienced Interim Head of Education Planning for a Local authority in West London, leading a key portfolio across School Organisation, Public Consultation and School Place Planning.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead strategic School Organisation and Place Planning across the borough.
• Lead complex public and statutory consultation processes.
• Manage school organisation proposals including expansions, amalgamations, PAN reductions and changes to provision.
• Lead mainstream and SEND sufficiency planning.
• Use pupil forecasting and demographic data to inform future provision.
• Work closely with schools, communities, the DfE, senior officers and elected members.
• Provide strategic advice and reports for Cabinet, Scrutiny and senior leadership.
• Support education estate, resource and financial planning.

About You

We are particularly interested in candidates with:

• Senior-level local authority School Organisation / Place Planning experience.
• Strong experience of public and statutory consultation.
• Experience managing politically sensitive school organisation change.
• Excellent stakeholder and elected member engagement skills.
• Knowledge of education sufficiency, pupil forecasting and relevant statutory requirements.
