Intervention Mentor - Alternative Provision

Location: Bolton
Pay: £110 - £115 per day
Contract: Full-Time, Temporary contract
Start Date: ASAP

We are currently working with a welcoming Alternative Provision in Bolton who are looking for a dedicated Intervention Mentor to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who can build strong relationships with young people and help them re-engage with education.

The Role:

• Providing 1:1 and small-group mentoring and intervention support
• Supporting pupils with SEMH, behavioural and emotional needs
• Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils
• Delivering targeted interventions to improve engagement, confidence and behaviour
• Supporting pupils who may have experienced difficulties within mainstream education
• Helping pupils develop social, emotional and life skills
• Working closely with teachers and pastoral staff to provide consistent support
• Managing challenging behaviour using positive and restorative approaches

The Ideal Candidate:

• Previous experience working with children or young people, particularly within education, care, youth work or support settings
• Experience supporting pupils with SEMH or challenging behaviour
• Confident managing difficult situations calmly and professionally
• Patient, resilient and approachable
• Able to build positive relationships with hard-to-reach young people
• A genuine passion for helping pupils overcome barriers to learning
• Previous experience within an Alternative Provision, PRU, SEN school or mainstream setting would be beneficial

This role would suit a Teaching Assistant, Behaviour Mentor, Youth Worker, Learning Mentor, Support Worker or aspiring teacher with a passion for making a difference.
