Spencer Clarke Group are seeking a Revenues Officer for a local authority in West Midlands.
In this role, you will manage Business Rates accounts, interpret complex legislation, handle recovery and appeals, and deliver an efficient, customer-focused Revenues service.
Duties:
- Manage and maintain Business Rates accounts, ensuring accurate billing and liability.
- Investigate and resolve complex liability, appeals and recovery cases.
- Process recovery action, reliefs, exemptions and write-off recommendations.
- Provide advice to customers and work with internal teams and external agencies to resolve cases.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience working in a Local Authority Revenues service, particularly Business Rates.
- Strong knowledge of Non-Domestic Rates legislation, reliefs and recovery processes.
- Experience managing complex cases, disputes, appeals and debt recovery.
- Proven ability to work independently, meet deadlines and manage a busy caseload remotely.
What's on offer:
Salary: £30ph+
*may negotiate higher for exceptional candidates, based on experience*
Contract type: 3-6 months minimum
Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week
