SEMH Teaching Assistant - Rochdale
Location: Rochdale
Pay: £110 per day
Contract: Full-time, temporary ongoing
Start Date: September
We are currently recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to join a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Rochdale, supporting pupils with a range of SEN, SEMH and behavioural needs.
The Role
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils.
- Support students with SEMH, behavioural and additional learning needs.
- Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
- Help pupils manage emotions, behaviour and engagement in learning.
- Work closely with teachers and the wider support team.
- Encourage pupils to develop confidence, resilience and independence.
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN/SEMH needs.
- Experience within a PRU, alternative provision, SEN school or challenging mainstream setting is desirable.
- Confident managing challenging behaviour and supporting emotional regulation.
- Patient, resilient and approachable.
- A genuine passion for helping young people reach their potential.
