Are you a passionate and dedicated Qualified Teacher looking for an opportunity to make a meaningful difference to the lives of young people with additional needs? We are seeking an experienced teacher to join an outstanding special school, supporting pupils aged 6-19 with autism spectrum condition (ASC), communication and sensory needs.
This is an exciting opportunity for a creative and adaptable teacher to deliver a broad, balanced and engaging curriculum across a Lifeskills/ASDAN pathway, helping young people develop academically, socially and emotionally while preparing them for greater independence.
As a Lifeskills Pathway Class Teacher, you will plan and deliver high-quality, personalised lessons that meet the individual needs, abilities and aspirations of each pupil. You will teach young people of secondary age who may be working significantly below age-related expectations, adapting the curriculum and teaching approaches to ensure every learner can make meaningful progress.
You will support pupils to develop their independence, resilience, communication and confidence, both within the classroom and in preparation for life beyond school. You will also have responsibility for delivering and supporting accreditation, including Entry Level and Functional Skills Maths and English where appropriate.
Working closely with Teaching Assistants, Higher Level Teaching Assistants, pastoral teams and other professionals, you will create a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment where pupils feel valued, supported and motivated to succeed.
If you are an enthusiastic and compassionate teacher who is committed to helping young people achieve their full potential, we would love to hear from you. Apply now to take the next step in your teaching career and become part of a team dedicated to delivering exceptional outcomes for pupils with additional needs.
All applicants will be subject to appropriate safeguarding and safer recruitment checks, including an Enhanced DBS Disclosure and professional reference checks. Overseas Police Clearances may also be required where applicable.
Applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK and be willing to provide appropriate documentation and attend any required registration or interview process.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff to share this commitment.
