SEN Teaching Assistant - Blackpool
Full-Time | September Start | Temp-to-Perm Opportunity

Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? Do you want to make a meaningful difference every day in a specialist educational setting?

A welcoming and well-resourced SEN school in Blackpool is looking to appoint a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September. This is a full-time role, working Monday to Friday, initially through an education agency, with the opportunity to secure a permanent contract for the right candidate.

The Role:

  • Support pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD/SLD), Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN), and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support, helping pupils access learning and achieve their individual targets.
  • Work closely with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to deliver tailored interventions and personalised learning.
  • Encourage positive behaviour, independence, and confidence in a nurturing environment.
  • Help create a safe, engaging, and inclusive classroom where every pupil can thrive.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN is desirable, but not essential.
  • A caring, patient, and resilient approach.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A genuine passion for supporting pupils with additional needs.
  • The ability to build positive relationships and adapt to the individual needs of each learner.

What's on Offer:

  • Full-time position, Monday to Friday.
  • September start.
  • Competitive daily pay through a trusted education agency.
  • Temp-to-perm opportunity for the right candidate.
  • A supportive and experienced staff team.
  • Ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
  • The chance to make a lasting impact in a specialist education setting.

If you're committed to helping children with additional needs reach their full potential and are looking for a rewarding new opportunity this September, we'd love to hear from you.
