SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Chorley
Pay Rate: £16.90 per hour
Contract: Temporary to Permanent

Spencer Clarke Group are currently recruiting for SEN Teaching Assistants to work within primary schools across Chorley and the surrounding areas.
This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting children with special educational needs and are looking to gain valuable experience within a school environment.
A Teaching Assistant qualification is not essential for this role, and we welcome applications from candidates who have relevant experience, transferable skills or a genuine passion for supporting children.
There are genuine temp-to-perm opportunities available.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside teachers and school staff to provide support to pupils with a range of additional needs.
Your responsibilities may include:

• Providing one-to-one and small-group support
• Supporting pupils with special educational needs
• Assisting with classroom activities and learning
• Supporting pupils with their social and emotional development
• Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement
• Helping pupils develop confidence and independence
• Creating a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment
• Working closely with teachers and other school staff

Requirements

• Previous experience working with children is desirable
• Experience supporting children with SEN is desirable but not essential
• A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development
• Patient, caring and understanding approach
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils
• Reliable and professional attitude
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Willingness to learn and develop within an educational setting
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service is desirable, or willingness to obtain one

A formal Teaching Assistant qualification is not essential. Candidates with relevant experience and transferable skills are encouraged to apply.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 14.3% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
