SEN Teaching Assistant - Primary School
Contract: Full time temporary contract
Location:: Irlam, Greater Manchester
Rate: £110 per day
Spencer Clarke Group are currently recruiting for a SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary SEN school in Irlam.
The school is looking for someone who is patient, nurturing and confident supporting children with additional needs, whether that's through 1:1 support, small-group work or within the wider classroom.
The Role:
- Supporting pupils with SEN across the primary age range
- Providing 1:1 and small-group support
- Helping pupils access learning and develop their confidence
- Supporting children with their social, emotional and behavioural needs
- Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO
- Adapting activities and resources to meet individual needs
- Promoting positive behaviour and creating a safe, inclusive environment
The Ideal Candidate:
- Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN
- Experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Support Worker or similar
- Patient, calm and empathetic approach
- Confident managing challenging behaviour where required
- Able to build strong relationships with pupils
- A relevant Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential
- School-based experience is advantageous
