Senior Revenues & Benefits Manager

Spencer Clarke Group are seeking a Senior Revenues & Benefits Manager for a local authority in Shropshire.

In this role, you will lead the Council's Revenues and Benefits service, ensuring the effective collection of local taxes, delivery of benefits, debt recovery, and statutory compliance.

Duties:

• Lead the delivery of Council Tax, Business Rates and Benefits services, ensuring high performance and statutory compliance.
• Manage revenue collection, debt recovery and discretionary support schemes to maximise income and support residents and businesses.
• Lead, develop and support managers and teams, driving continuous improvement and excellent customer service.
• Implement government policy changes, manage service performance, and provide strategic advice to senior leaders and stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Significant management experience within a Revenues and Benefits service, preferably in local government.
• Proven experience of leading high-performing teams and delivering service improvement.
• Strong knowledge of Council Tax, Business Rates, Benefits and debt recovery legislation.
• Experience managing complex operational services, performance, budgets and statutory compliance.

What's on offer:

Salary: £33ph+

*may negotiate higher for exceptional candidates, based on experience*

Contract type: 5 months minimum

Hours: Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week
