Targeted Housing Advisor

Spencer Clarke Group are seeking a Targeted Housing Advisor for a local authority in South London.

In this role, you will provide expert housing advice, assess complex homelessness cases, conduct robust investigations and make legally compliant decisions to prevent and relieve homelessness.

Duties:

• Assess homelessness applications against all statutory tests.
• Conduct detailed investigations and gather supporting evidence.
• Prepare Personalised Housing Plans and Section 184 decision letters.
• Manage a high-volume caseload and provide tailored housing advice.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Minimum 3 years' recent Local Authority Housing Options Officer experience.
• Strong experience applying Part VII of the Housing Act 1996 and Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.
• Proven experience conducting homelessness investigations and writing S184 decisions.
• Experience managing complex, high-volume caseloads and vulnerable households.

What's on offer:

Salary: £30ph

*may negotiate higher for exceptional candidates, based on experience*

Contract type: 3-6 months minimum

Hours: Monday to Friday, 36 hours per week
